COMMON QUESTIONS
Q). Where do I get helmets and shoulder pads? What kind?
a). We recommend, “play it again sports” 76th and Layton for used equipment . They are less expensive and of good quality. Make sure the equipment fits well as this is for safety. We encourage the use of football pants to protect the legs. Also, pick up a mouth guard. A protective cup is also a good idea.
Q). Where do I get helmets painted and decals
A). Most coaches will assist in this however it is the parent’s responsibility for the helmet being painted and the proper color and the proper decals please check with the coach. For painting we have used: Athletic Equipment Repair, 530 S. 2nd Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204 414-271-2837
Q). When does the season start?
A). The exhibition games will be played the weekend after labor day (Sept. 6) and be played every Saturday until November 1st. This will be our 3rd year of having an “all star game”
Q). When are the practices and where? Where/when are the games played?
A). The head coach determines the practices. Typically the practices are 2-3 times a week starting at about 5:00 to 7:30 and most are held at bluhm field. All games are played at bluhm field. 10:30, 12:00, 1:30 and 3:00.
Q). Can my child be on the same team as his friend?
A). We highly discourage this, as it is not always fair to other teams placing kids together. We also feel that this is a great opportunity to have the kids meet new friends. Also, they do not have to compete with their friends for the same positions on the same team. Players are selected by a coaches draft this will be aug 13th coaches can start practice as soon as the 14th no more than 4 practices a week until school starts then it drops to no more then 3. |
